Join Katie Jones, Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2025 Finalist and Heat Winner, for an inspiring three-day Portrait Painting in Oil Masterclass at the beautiful Cober Hill mansion house. Katie Jones is a talented Somerset-based artist renowned for her striking, hyperrealistic portraits painted in oil. She has gained widespread acclaim for her exceptional ability to capture skin tones, lifelike eyes, and the subtle nuances of human expression. Her work blends technical precision with emotional depth, creating powerful and intimate portraits that resonate with viewers. Katie regularly teaches workshops and masterclasses, sharing her expertise with both emerging and established artists. This three-day intensive masterclass offers a wonderful balance of demonstration, practice, and individual guidance. Working from a live models, you will develop your skills in oil portraiture in a supportive and encouraging environment. Over the three days you will: - Learn Katie’s approach to achieving realistic and luminous skin tones - Master the painting of expressive eyes and facial features - Explore composition, values, and colour harmony in portraits - Develop techniques for blending, layering, and creating depth - Gain confidence in capturing likeness and personality Each day will include clear demonstrations from Katie, followed by extended painting time with plenty of one-to-one support. The workshops takes place at: Cober Hill Cloughton Scarborough North Yorkshire YO13 0AR The workshops runs daily from from 10am to 4pm. Please arrive at Cober Hill between 9.30am and 9.45am for refreshments before heading to the studio for a prompt 10am start. Includes all materials and lunch.
Cancellation Policy
Right to Cancel and Receive Reimbursement The statutory 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to accommodation and leisure services provided on specific dates. We offer the following goodwill policy: Cancellation & Refund Policy: More than 12 weeks before arrival: Full refund minus £30 administration fee per person. 6–12 weeks before arrival: 75% refund. 4–6 weeks before arrival: 50% refund. Less than 4 weeks before arrival: No refund. Cancellations must be made in writing to info@bookaclass.com. Refunds (where due) will be processed within 10 business days. Travel / Holiday Insurance Recommendation We strongly recommend that all participants purchase comprehensive travel or holiday insurance at the time of booking. This should cover cancellation or curtailment, medical expenses, personal belongings, and any other relevant risks. We cannot be held responsible for any losses, damages, or additional costs you may incur due to cancellation, illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances if you do not have adequate insurance in place. Rescheduling: Possible up to 8 weeks before arrival (subject to availability). A £30 administration fee applies for changes made later. Our Right to Cancel: We may cancel a residential stay due to insufficient numbers or force majeure. In such cases we will first offer an alternative date before offering a full refund.
