Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions") govern the use of www.bookaclass.org (the "Site"). This Site is owned and operated by North Yorks Art School (bookaclass.org). This Site is an event booking site.
By using this site, you indicate that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by them at all times.
Intellectual Property
All content published and made available on our Site is the property of bookaclass.org and the Site's creators. This includes, but is not limited to images, text, logos, documents, downloadable files and anything that contributes to the composition of our Site.
Accounts
When you create an account on our Site, you agree to the following:

You are solely responsible for your account and the security and privacy of your account, including passwords or sensitive information attached to that account; and

All personal information you provide to us through your account is up to date, accurate, and truthful and that you will update your personal information if it changes.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you are using our Site illegally or if you violate these Terms and Conditions.
Payments, Deposits & Balance Due Dates
Customers have the option to pay the full amount at the time of booking or to pay a 25% deposit with the balance due later. The deposit option is not available for our pay-as-you-go classes, vouchers or bundles.
Deposits
To secure your place on any Workshop, Course or Residential, a 25% non-refundable deposit of the total booking fee is required at the time of booking (if the deposit option is chosen).
This deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to changes in personal circumstances, illness, or withdrawal from the booking. The deposit forms part of the total cost and will be deducted from the final balance.
Balance Payments
If the deposit option is chosen, the outstanding balance (75% of the total booking fee) must be paid in full no later than 45 days prior to the start date of the Workshop, Course or Residential.
You will receive a reminder email approximately 60 days before the event with a link to make the balance payment through your Wix booking account.
Failure to Pay the Balance on Time
If the balance is not received by the 45-day deadline, we reserve the right to:

Cancel your booking automatically.

Retain the 25% deposit as a cancellation charge.

Offer your place to another customer.
In such cases, no refund of the deposit will be issued, and you will not be entitled to attend the event.
Payment Options

Online at time of booking via our website – we accept card payments, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal.

Pay via link (for full balance or deposit)

Payment via bank transfer – please contact us first so we can allocate the payment to your booking.

Payment over the phone – call us on 0345 548 0325 and we can process part or full payment.

In person – at the School / Shop in Scarborough, or when we are at Cober Hill or Knaresborough where cash and card payments can be taken.
Sale of Services
We supply services as described on our website. All bookings are subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse, modify, or cancel any booking and will refund any payment already taken where appropriate.
Consumer Protection Law
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer law. In the event of any conflict, your statutory rights prevail.
Limitation of Liability & Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, North Yorks Art School shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss. You agree to indemnify us against any claims arising from your breach of these terms or misuse of our services.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will first attempt mediation before proceeding to the courts.

Rescheduling a Booking
1. Pay-As-You-Go Classes
Payment Options
Customers may choose to pay in full at the time of booking or pay on the day of the class.
Right to Cancel and Receive Reimbursement
UK/EU consumers have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase for a full refund, provided the class has not yet taken place. To cancel, email info@bookaclass.com.
Our Cancellation & Refund Policy (applies alongside statutory rights):

More than 7 days before the class: Full refund minus £5 administration fee, or a full credit to your customer bundle.

Between 7 days and 48 hours before the class: At our discretion, we may offer a rescheduled place within the following month. No refund will be given.

Less than 48 hours before the class or after the class has started: You will forfeit the full amount paid. No refund or credit to a bundle will be issued.
Rescheduling / Transfers
Rescheduling is only available at our discretion as outlined above. You may transfer your place to another person with at least 48 hours’ notice, subject to our approval.
2. Courses & Workshops
Right to Cancel and Receive Reimbursement
UK/EU consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase for a full refund, provided the course or workshop has not yet commenced. Email info@bookaclass.com to cancel.
Cancellation & Refund Policy (after 14 days):

More than 8 weeks before the start date: Full refund minus £20 administration fee.

4–8 weeks before: 70% refund.

2–4 weeks before: 50% refund.

Less than 2 weeks before the start or after the course has begun: No refund.
Rescheduling: You may reschedule once free of charge up to 8 weeks before the start date (subject to availability). Later rescheduling incurs a £20 administration fee.
3. Residential Stays at Cober Hill
Right to Cancel and Receive Reimbursement
The statutory 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to accommodation and leisure services provided on specific dates. We offer the following goodwill policy:
Cancellation & Refund Policy:

More than 12 weeks before arrival: Full refund minus £30 administration fee per person.

6–12 weeks before arrival: 75% refund.
-
4–6 weeks before arrival: 50% refund.

Less than 4 weeks before arrival: No refund.
Cancellations must be made in writing to info@bookaclass.com. Refunds (where due) will be processed within 10 business days.
Travel / Holiday Insurance Recommendation
We strongly recommend that all participants purchase comprehensive travel or holiday insurance at the time of booking. This should cover cancellation or curtailment, medical expenses, personal belongings, and any other relevant risks. We cannot be held responsible for any losses, damages, or additional costs you may incur due to cancellation, illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances if you do not have adequate insurance in place.
Rescheduling: Possible up to 8 weeks before arrival (subject to availability). A £30 administration fee applies for changes made later.
Our Right to Cancel: We may cancel a residential stay due to insufficient numbers or force majeure. In such cases we will first offer an alternative date before offering a full refund.
4. Gift Vouchers & Bundles
Right to Cancel and Receive Reimbursement
UK/EU consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase (or receipt of the voucher code if later) for a full refund, provided the voucher or bundle has not been redeemed or used in any way. Email info@bookaclass.com to cancel.
Gift Vouchers (after 14 days):

Non-refundable.

Valid for 24 months from the date of issue.

Cannot be exchanged for cash.

Lost or stolen vouchers will not be replaced.
Bundles (after 14 days):

More than 8 weeks before first use: Full refund minus £15 administration fee.

4–8 weeks before first use: 70% refund.

Less than 4 weeks before first use or after any classes/services have been used: No refund.

Bundles are non-transferable unless agreed in writing.

For recurring bundles, you may cancel future renewals with 30 days’ notice (no refund for the current paid period).
