Join us for a wonderful one-day Hardbound Bookbinding Workshop, where you will learn the traditional craft of making a beautiful, fully hand-bound A5 book from start to finish. This hands-on workshop introduces you to the essential tools and materials used in professional bookbinding. In the morning you will fold and tear paper to size, then hand-sew the sections together to create a solid book block. You will then add endpapers and spine lining, giving your book strength and a professional finish. After a well-earned lunch you will move on to creating the cover. You’ll choose from a beautiful selection of coloured book cloths and decorative patterned papers to cover the grey board. In the final stage, you will master the satisfying process of casing in, carefully attaching the finished cover to the book block. By the end of the day, you will have created your own elegant, hardbound A5 book perfect to use as a high-quality sketchbook, notebook, journal, or a special handmade gift. What’s Included: - All bookbinding materials, tools, paper, book cloth, and boards - Expert step-by-step guidance - Lunch and refreshments - Your finished hand-bound book to take home This workshop is suitable for all abilities, no previous experience is necessary. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some crafting experience, you’ll love the meditative and rewarding process of creating something beautiful and functional with your own hands. A perfect workshop for artists, writers, journalers, and anyone who appreciates traditional crafts and handmade objects.
