Join passionate art historian Linda Polkowski for an engaging and enlightening one-day Art History workshop at Cober Hill. This workshop offers a fascinating exploration of art history, designed to deepen your understanding and appreciation of art across the centuries. Through illustrated talks, lively discussion, and interactive elements, Linda will guide you through key movements, artists, and ideas that have shaped Western art. The day will be both informative and enjoyable, encouraging you to look at artworks with fresh eyes and new insight. What the day will include: - Illustrated presentations on selected art movements and themes - In-depth analysis of major artists and iconic works - Exploration of historical and cultural context - Group discussions and opportunities to share thoughts - Practical ways to continue your art history journey at home Whether you are new to art history or have some existing knowledge, this workshop provides an accessible and stimulating introduction (or refresher) to the subject in a friendly, supportive environment. Linda is an experienced educator with a BA Honours degree in History of Art and English Literature from the University of Kent. She is a dedicated teacher with a real passion for making art history accessible and exciting. Linda regularly delivers popular art history lectures and discussion sessions at North Yorks Art School, where her warm, engaging style and deep knowledge have made her a favourite with students. Her teaching draws on years of academic study and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing the stories behind great works of art. This is the perfect opportunity to spend a rewarding day immersed in the world of art, surrounded by like-minded people, and leaving with a richer appreciation of art history. Saturday 30th October 2027 10am - 4pm with Linda Polkowski This class takes place at: Cober Hill Cloughton Scarborough North Yorkshire YO13 0AR The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm. Please arrive at Cober Hill between 9.30am and 9.45am for refreshments before heading to the studio for a prompt 10am start. Turn this workshop into a two-night stay at Cober Hill’s historic mansion house. The residential package costs an additional £270 per person. Check-in from 3pm Friday 29th October, check-out by 10.30am Sunday 31st October. Please select the accommodation option on the booking form.

Booking & Cancellation Policy Payment Options You can pay in full at the time of booking via card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or PayPal, or choose to pay a 25% deposit and pay the remaining balance 45 days before the event. Cash payment can be made in person at the school, shop or venue. Deposits A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on Workshops, Courses and Residentials. This deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. Balance Due If you pay by deposit, the remaining 75% balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the start date. We will send you a reminder email with a payment link. Cancellation Policy Courses & Workshops More than 8 weeks before start: Full refund minus £20 admin fee. 4–8 weeks before: 70% refund. 2–4 weeks before: 50% refund. Less than 2 weeks before or after start: No refund.
