Join popular North Yorkshire watercolour artist Andrew Storrie for an intensive and inspiring two-day watercolour workshop at the beautiful Cober Hill mansion house. Andrew is a highly regarded watercolourist known for his fresh, atmospheric, and expressive style. With many years of teaching experience, he has a wonderful ability to make watercolour accessible and enjoyable for all abilities. Andrew specialises in capturing the landscapes and coastline of North Yorkshire with a loose, confident approach that emphasises light, mood, and spontaneity. This two-day workshop is perfect for beginners and improvers who want to develop their watercolour skills in a short but focused period. Each day you will work on a new watercolour painting under Andrew’s guidance. The workshop will feature clear demonstrations of key techniques followed by plenty of time for you to paint and receive individual support. Andrew will guide you through different approaches each day, inspiring confidence and helping unlock the secrets of this medium. Techniques you will explore include: Wet-in-wet and wet-on-dry methods Beautiful soft washes and glazing techniques Effective colour mixing and harmonious palettes Creating texture and expressive marks Capturing light, atmosphere, and mood in the landscape Loose, confident brushwork and strong composition Set in the inspiring surroundings of Cober Hill, you’ll have the opportunity to sketch outdoors (weather permitting) and develop your work in the well-lit studios. By the end of the two days, you will have completed two finished paintings and gained valuable new skills to take forward in your watercolour journey. This is an excellent opportunity to build confidence, learn new techniques, and enjoy the creative process alongside like-minded artists in a welcoming environment. Whether you’ve never picked up a watercolour brush before or you’re looking to improve and refine your skills, Andrew’s course will leave you feeling inspired and more confident in your painting. This course is suitable for all levels. This class takes place at: Cober Hill Cloughton Scarborough North Yorkshire YO13 0AR Turn this workshop into a three-night stay at Cober Hill’s historic mansion house. The residential package costs an additional £405 per person. Check-in from 3pm Friday 16th April check-out by 10.30am Monday 19th April. Please select the accommodation option on the booking form. Booking & Cancellation Policy Payment Options You can pay in full at the time of booking via card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or PayPal, or choose to pay a 25% deposit and pay the remaining balance 45 days before the event. Cash payment can be made in person at the school, shop or venue. Deposits A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on Workshops, Courses and Residentials. This deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. Balance Due If you pay by deposit, the remaining 75% balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the start date. We will send you a reminder email with a payment link. Cancellation Policy Residential Stays at Cober Hill More than 12 weeks before arrival: Full refund minus £50 admin fee per person. 6–12 weeks before: 75% refund. 4–6 weeks before: 50% refund. Less than 4 weeks before: No refund. We strongly recommend you take out travel/holiday insurance for residential stays.
