Escape the everyday and rediscover your creativity in one of England’s most picturesque regions. Join us for an inspiring three days of walking and sketching at the charming Cober Hill mansion house, just outside Scarborough. This relaxing week combines gentle guided walks through stunning North Yorkshire landscapes with daily sketching sessions, allowing you to capture the beauty of the coastline, moors, and historic surroundings. Based at Cober Hill, your days will include scenic walks in the local area, exploring the vibrant town of Scarborough and sections of the Cleveland Way, which is on Cober Hill’s doorstep. Each walk will be followed by guided sketching sessions where you can document what you see. Led by experienced artist Colin Powell, you will receive expert guidance on capturing the essence of the landscape. Colin will share his knowledge of composition, perspective, tone, and mark-making techniques, helping you create lively and atmospheric sketches, from quick studies of historic architecture to more detailed observations of natural vistas. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned artist, this retreat offers a supportive and encouraging environment to develop your sketching skills while enjoying the fresh sea air and breathtaking scenery of the North Yorkshire coast and moors. The workshops takes place at: Cober Hill Cloughton Scarborough North Yorkshire YO13 0AR The workshops runs daily from from 10am to 4pm. Please arrive at Cober Hill between 9.30am and 9.45am for refreshments before heading to the studio for a prompt 10am start.
Cancellation Policy
Right to Cancel and Receive Reimbursement The statutory 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to accommodation and leisure services provided on specific dates. We offer the following goodwill policy: Cancellation & Refund Policy: More than 12 weeks before arrival: Full refund minus £30 administration fee per person. 6–12 weeks before arrival: 75% refund. 4–6 weeks before arrival: 50% refund. Less than 4 weeks before arrival: No refund. Cancellations must be made in writing to info@bookaclass.com. Refunds (where due) will be processed within 10 business days. Travel / Holiday Insurance Recommendation We strongly recommend that all participants purchase comprehensive travel or holiday insurance at the time of booking. This should cover cancellation or curtailment, medical expenses, personal belongings, and any other relevant risks. We cannot be held responsible for any losses, damages, or additional costs you may incur due to cancellation, illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances if you do not have adequate insurance in place. Rescheduling: Possible up to 8 weeks before arrival (subject to availability). A £30 administration fee applies for changes made later. Our Right to Cancel: We may cancel a residential stay due to insufficient numbers or force majeure. In such cases we will first offer an alternative date before offering a full refund.
