Join acclaimed watercolour artist Richard Burton for a wonderful three-day watercolour masterclass at the beautiful Cober Hill mansion house, just outside Scarborough. This immersive course is designed for artists of all abilities who want to develop their watercolour skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Set against the stunning North Yorkshire coastline and countryside, the course beautifully combines outdoor sketching with studio-based painting, allowing you to capture the landscape while refining your technique indoors. Each day you will enjoy two dedicated painting sessions (morning and afternoon). Richard will demonstrate a wide range of watercolour techniques and work through new paintings, exploring the expressive possibilities of the medium. You will then have time to apply what you’ve learned to your own work, with plenty of individual guidance and support from Richard throughout. What you will explore: - Mastering water control, washes, and glazing - Wet-in-wet and wet-on-dry techniques - Creating depth, atmosphere, and texture - Capturing light and mood in landscapes and nature - Developing your own personal style Whether you are a beginner looking to build strong foundations or an experienced painter wanting to loosen up and work more expressively, Richard’s encouraging approach will help you make real progress during the week. About you Tutor: Richard Burton is an award-winning watercolour artist renowned for his mastery of landscapes, drawing inspiration from the stunning vistas of the Yorkshire coast. With a wealth of experience and accolades to his name, Richard brings passion, expertise and a unique perspective to his teaching. Course Details This masterclass includes all materials and equipment and lunch is provided daily. The workshops takes place at: Cober Hill Cloughton Scarborough North Yorkshire YO13 0AR The workshops runs daily from from 10am to 4pm. Please arrive at Cober Hill between 9.30am and 9.45am for refreshments before heading to the studio for a prompt 10am start.

Booking & Cancellation Policy Payment Options You can pay in full at the time of booking via card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or PayPal, or choose to pay a 25% deposit and pay the remaining balance 45 days before the event. Cash payment can be made in person at the school, shop or venue. Deposits A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on Workshops, Courses and Residentials. This deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. Balance Due If you pay by deposit, the remaining 75% balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the start date. We will send you a reminder email with a payment link. Courses & Workshops More than 8 weeks before start: Full refund minus £20 admin fee. 4–8 weeks before: 70% refund. 2–4 weeks before: 50% refund. Less than 2 weeks before or after start: No refund.
