Escape the everyday and rediscover your creativity in one of England’s most picturesque regions. Join us for an inspiring two-day walking and sketching weekend at the charming Cober Hill mansion house, just outside Scarborough. This relaxing full-board residential combines gentle guided walks through stunning North Yorkshire landscapes with daily sketching sessions, allowing you to capture the beauty of the coastline, moors, and historic surroundings. Starting at Cober Hill, you will head into Scarbotough for two-days sketching the wonders of Scarborough North & South Bay. Each walk will be followed by guided sketching sessions where you can document what you see. Led by experienced artist Peter Ruczynski, you will receive expert guidance on capturing the essence of the landscape. Colin will share his knowledge of composition, perspective, tone, and mark-making techniques, helping you create lively and atmospheric sketches, from quick studies of historic architecture to more detailed observations of natural vistas. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned artist, this retreat offers a supportive and encouraging environment to develop your sketching skills while enjoying the sea air and breathtaking scenery of Scarborough. Turn this workshop into a three-night stay at Cober Hill’s historic mansion house. The residential package costs an additional £405 per person. Check-in from 3pm 20th August, check-out by 10.30am Monday 23rd August. Please select the accommodation option on the booking form.
Cancellation Policy
Booking & Cancellation Policy Payment Options You can pay in full at the time of booking via card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or PayPal, or choose to pay a 25% deposit and pay the remaining balance 45 days before the event. Cash payment can be made in person at the school, shop or venue. Deposits A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on Workshops, Courses and Residentials. This deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. Balance Due If you pay by deposit, the remaining 75% balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the start date. We will send you a reminder email with a payment link. Cancellation Policy Residential Stays at Cober Hill More than 12 weeks before arrival: Full refund minus £50 admin fee per person. 6–12 weeks before: 75% refund. 4–6 weeks before: 50% refund. Less than 4 weeks before: No refund. We strongly recommend you take out travel/holiday insurance for residential stays.
