Fused Glass Lantern Workshop
Saturday 26th - Sunday 27th September 2026 - Cober Hill, Scarborough
Available spaces
Join us for an inspiring two-day Fused Glass workshop, where you’ll discover the beautiful art of glass fusion under the expert guidance of Helen Gordon, a renowned glass artist with a 1st Class Honours degree in Glass and a passion for vibrant, tactile designs. The first will be a cancle holder panel. You will spend the morning learning the key techniques ready to start work on the glass panels for your lantern later in the workshop. You will then make four 11.5 x 8.5cm glass panels that can then be inserted into a 25cm high lantern. You will work on the design for each panel and spend the remainder of the workshop time creating the panes for the lantern. There are so many beautiful ways to theme your lantern. You might choose a completely festive theme, with a different festive image or pattern on each panel, perhaps Christmas trees, snowflakes, robins, or winter foliage. Alternatively, you could create a seasonal lantern, with each of the four sides representing one of the four seasons: vibrant spring flowers, bright summer sunshine, rich autumn leaves, and peaceful winter scenes. Whether you prefer a cohesive theme across all panels or four completely different designs, the choice is yours. The lantern will look magical once lit, with your fused glass panels glowing beautifully. The cost of materials and the lantern is included in the workshop. You do have an option to create panels for a larger lantern, this would be an additinal cost of £25 which can be selected at check-out and must be ordered at time of booking.
