Join us for a four-night residential at Cober Hill, where you will enjoy a full week immersed in watercolour painting with three outstanding artists, each bringing their own unique style and approach. This creative week is perfect for artists who want to explore a wide variety of watercolour techniques and discover different ways of working within the medium. You will spend each full day with a different tutor, allowing you to experience contrasting styles, methods, and creative practice. Your Tutors: Andrew Storrie – Known for his fresh, loose and atmospheric watercolours, Andrew specialises in capturing the ever-changing landscapes and dramatic coastline. His style is expressive and confident, with a strong emphasis on light, mood and spontaneous brushwork. Elena Stogniva – Elena brings a vibrant, precise and contemporary approach to watercolour, with a particular focus on Architectural Watercolour. She excels at capturing buildings, street scenes, and interiors with beautiful perspective, clean lines, and rich atmosphere while maintaining a lively, artistic feel. Paul Talbot-Greeves – A highly respected watercolourist celebrated for his elegant, luminous, and technically accomplished paintings. Paul’s style combines traditional precision with a wonderful sense of light and atmosphere, often focusing on architecture, landscapes, and coastal scenes with clarity and poetic sensitivity. You will benefit from in-depth demonstrations, hands-on practice, and personalised guidance as you explore a rich variety of watercolour techniques including wet-in-wet, glazing, dry brush, granulation, colour mixing, composition, and creating mood and texture. Whether you are a beginner looking to build strong foundations or an experienced painter wanting to expand your repertoire, this residential offers a wonderful opportunity to learn from multiple high-quality tutors in one inspiring week. There will be opportunities for outdoor sketching when weather permits. You will return home with a diverse collection of paintings and a much broader understanding of watercolour as a medium. Residential Details This residential includes a full board four-night stay in your own en-suite room at Cober Hill retreat, just outside Scarborough and includes all materials and equipment.
